THEODORE R. "TED" STARKE, 82, of Fort Wayne, died on Sunday, Feb. 12, 2012, in Parkview Hospital. Born Oct. 9, 1929, in Fort Wayne, he was a member of Gethsemane Lutheran Church. He was a U.S. Army Korean War veteran and retired in 1995 from Starke Lawns & Evergreens Inc. which he founded in 1958. Surviving are his daughter, Deborah J. (Dwane) Bruick of Fort Wayne; son, Timothy T. (Patricia) Starke of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Sarah (Josh) Goss, Stephanie (Andrew) Remenschneider and Natalie Bruick; and great-grandson, Elliot Goss. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara, in 1995; and sisters, Margaret Crum and Helene Hines. Funeral service is 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, 2012, at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road. Pastor Debra Meuter officiating. Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2012, at the funeral home. Entombment in Concordia Cemetery Gardens.
