Thelma “Mae” Sherwood, 96, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Wednesday, August 10, 2011. She was born on July 8, 1915 to the late James L. and Bessie (Hummer) Price and was a member of the Waynedale community since 1934. She was a homemaker. She enjoyed dancing with the Alley Kats, volunteering at the Senior Center, meeting people with the Home-EC club, entertaining for the holidays, and playing euchre. She was also a member of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church.
Surviving family include her children, Catherine (John) Wyatt of FL., Richard “Dick” (Vesta) Sherwood of Fort Wayne, James B. “Jim” (Marsha) Sherwood, Jr. of New Haven; 9 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be at 2:30 pm on Sunday, August 14, 2011 at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, 1819 Resveration Drive, Fort Wayne with visitation 1 hour prior. Visitation will also be from 4-8 pm on Saturday, August 13, 2011 at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home for Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne. Memorials may be made to Mount Calvary Lutheran Church.
