She graduated from Manchester College where she met her husband, Don, and taught elementary children before they started a family. At that point, Susan chose to stay at home and raise her children. Later on, Susan went on to acquire her Master’s in Education from IPFW and taught Reading Recovery for the remainder of her career before she retired. What an example she set for her children as she furthered her education while working part-time jobs and continuing to serve and love her family. Susan was very proud of her three children and loved and supported them in anything they chose to do. She cherished her six grandchildren and enjoyed watching them grow and mature over the years.
Susan touched many lives while here on earth and will be dearly missed, but she is with her Lord and her beloved husband in heaven.
Susan was preceded in death by her dear husband of 50 years, Don Walters.
Susan is survived by her three children Phillip Walters (Jodi), Beth Oppy (Mike), and Craig Walters (Heather) and six grandchildren, Jacob, Ian, Katie, Hannah, Riley and Brenden. Also surviving are her sister Barbara Goodwin (John) and brother Tom Boswell (Barbara).
