It’s still hard to believe that Sue is not with us, except in spirit.  She comes to mind very often when I think of good times with the family and also up north. Susan was always happy and pleasant and fun to be with. She was always concerned about the whole family —that everyone would be doing fine and be healthy.  She was the bond in the family, and she was the strength of the family.  Now  as  she is basking in the eternal light of Jesus, our Savior, she is still missed very much.  I was married to Susan‘s brother, Bob, and as he struggled with dementia, I just know she would have been here with comfort and prayers. A few hours before Bob died,  He called me into the living room where he was in his hospice bed and pointed up to the ceiling and said , “Look there ‘s  Susan!” and I will never forget that.   I know she was there to help him come home to the Lord .

Dear Rick, Matt, Marc, Monica, Lily and Anna,
I regret that I did not come to Fort Wayne  to visit with all of you.  Susan and I were about six months apart in age.   She was fun to be with and  was all about family.  She never held a grudge and felt that life was too short to stay mad about anything.  She overlooked everyone’s mistakes, and peace was most important to her, especially in the family.   Her faith was so strong.   On the day that Bob died, he told me that he saw Susan.  A few more times that day,  he would wave  to her.  I know that took away any fear he may have had.   
Those were two great losses for all of us.  ( I am sorry if I did not spell the girls’ names right). I hope your memories will bring you peace.   Love, Linda

We are sorry that we cannot be there with you today.  Our prayers are offered for Susan today as she is returned to the warm loving embrace of God.   Our memories of family gatherings, fun times, and times when we needed to lean on one another  will bring us peace, we pray.
May I share a memory?    One year after Thanksgiving dinner at  Dick and  Darlene's, Susan decided that  we could get some great turkey soup  from the  leftovers of the turkey.  So she put a strainer under the pot of broth to make sure the broth was  free of bones, etc.    As she was pouring the broth, she was excited to look forward to the turkey noodle soup., except that she forgot to put another pot under the strainer,  and the soup went right through the strainer and down the drain!  When Susan laughed, it was contagious!
No matter what was happening in her life,  she  trusted that God was by her side every moment.  What a beautiful example for all of us.      Love to Rick, Matt, Marc, Monica and  Susan's precious granddaughters!  And thank you to Susan's many friends from Fort Wayne.  Her love for all  will never end, it will come right from heaven instead.

Rick and family, I am so saddened by the loss of your wife, mom, and grandmother. I knew Sue in high school with Dave. She was always a kind person. I admired her Christian walk, her strength, her character. Through all the struggles, she was the epitome of Christian grace. I know she is greatly missed. I'm praying for you all. I know God's grace IS sufficient. HE will not let you fall. May the peace of Christ, which surpasses all comprehension, be with all of you. 

Sue is my sister-in-law, I am married to her brother, Bob.  The  messages and tributes that other people have written are beautiful!   Susan was always fun to be with, always had a positive attitude, and she  could lift the spirits of everyone.   Among many great memories I have,   her life and unselfish  work as a Christian showed in everything she said and did.
I also believe that she was welcomed into heaven by family and friends, but so many more will be there to greet her.  She will be missed, and yet we rejoice that she sees Jesus -face to face.
Our  sympathy and prayers are offered to  Rick, Matt, Marc, Monica, and the two brightest stars in her life, Lily and Anna.

     With a heavy but joyous heart.  Susan is happy with the Lord!  She will miss her loved ones of course but I know they are taking solace in knowing how loved and happy Sue is now.  Glory be to our loving Father.  
     I grew up with David and Susan in Bay City, Michigan.  We were and will always be like brother and sister.   In those early years my sister Jean, who greeted Susan as she entered Heaven, and David and I were neighborhood "family" who saw each other every day. 
      Whether we were ice skating at the local rink on Water Street in the winter or walking to Collins neighborhood store, we always had fun.  We attended all schools together and the couple of miles a day we hiked to get to Central High School was not a chore because we always laughed.  
     Later in life, after we lost touch and everyone moved away, when we finally did get back together, after the first two sentences, we were picking up right where we left off and finishing each other's sentences.  I am so glad I got to see Sue, David and another childhood friend, Juanita, when I was last in Bay City.  
    Susan will truly be missed but only for a short while until she greets us all again.  May God be with the family in their time of sorrow.  Missed but never, ever forgotten.  Lovingly, your Brother in Christ,

My memory of Sue is of so many good things but my favorite comes to mind when she always said, as she did me a favor, and so often she would say,  " I'm storing up treasures in heaven, don't take that away " especially if I offered her money or a favor in return.  She was the best friend that I could have ever known and I am sure that she has so many treasures in heaven that her mansion must be beautiful!!
