Stanley Arthur Williams, 78, passed away Tuesday, March 16 at Hospice Home. He was born May 24, 1931 in Ft Wayne, IN to Arthur and Laura (Gessler) Williams. He graduated from Harmer Grade School; was a proud graduate of Central High School-Class of 1949; and Purdue University-Class of 1956. He was a Army Korean War Veteran and a member of American Legion Post 296. He was employed by General Electric Company for 40 years; retiring from the Specialty Transformer Dept. He was a volunteer for 15 years at Lutheran Hospital. He enjoyed family, his pets, hiking and bicycle riding, Elderhostels, Friday night dancing at the Legion with friends and his Thursday mornings working with the Emmanuel "Thursday Guys". He missed this very much when he was no longer able to help and be with them on Thursday mornings. He married Beverly (Layman) Williams on April 25, 1959 and they celebrated 50 years of marriage April of 2009. He is also survived by his children, Daniel (Ginny) Williams, of Columbia, MD and Jeffrey (Elizabeth) Williams, of Harrison Township, MI; grandchildren, Elaina and Jordan Williams. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Laura (Gessler) Williams. Memorial Service 10:30am Saturday at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 917 W.
