Stan Owensby, age 63, of Marion, Indiana passed away on Saturday, December 3, 2022 at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne. Stan was born on August 16, 1959, in Marion, Indiana to the late Jimmie and Maeomia Owensby; he was the sixth of twelve children. Stan accepted Christ as his savior at an early age and was baptized at St. Paul Baptist Church. He received his GED from Henryville High School and worked at Fort Wayne Plastics before his retirement.
Stan leaves to cherish his memory: his daughter Darnesha Miller; his brother James (Michelle) Owensby of Cleveland, Ohio, his brother David Owensby of Cleveland, Ohio, his brother Randy Owensby of Cleveland, Ohio, his brother Ike Owensby of Cleveland, Ohio, his brother Mike Owensby of Cleveland, Ohio, his sister Addie (George) Reynard of Marion, Indiana, his sister Lois (James) Jones of Marion, Ohio, his sister Jill Owensby of Marion, Indiana and his sister Daphne (Robert) Robinson of Cleveland, Ohio; his grandson Ricky, his granddaughter Kamya, his goddaughter Darrina Miller and his godson Jovon Allen. Stan will be sadly missed by a host of aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins, and all of his friends.
Stan was preceded in death by his father Jimmie Owensby and his mother Maeomia Wofford Owensby; his brother Elgin Owensby and his sister Shirley Beard; his grandfather Dewitt Wofford, his grandmother Carrie Watson Wofford, his grandfather Willie Owensby, and his grandmother Dona May Paul Owensby.
Stan will be laid to rest in Evergreen Cemetery, Cleveland, Ohio. A Celebration of Life will take place at a future date. Arrangements entrusted to Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services-Mungovan, 2114 S. Calhoun Street, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46802.
