Selma Bolyard

Selma C. Bolyard, 89, of Fort Wayne passed away on Monday, October 17, 2011 at Woodview Health Care. She was born June 21, 1922 in to Fort Wayne to the late William and Emma (Meyer) Bradtmiller. She retired from Fort Wayne Community Schools. She was also a charter member of Bethany Lutheran Church and a member of the Lutheran Social Service. She was active as a volunteer with the Concordia High School, Pro-Fed Credit Union, Lutheran Hospital, and the Botanical Gardens. She enjoyed golfing and gardening. Surviving family include her daughters, Nancy (Kent) Lochmueller of Columbia City, Claudia (Jim) Roper of Fort Lauderdale, FL; grandchildren, Karsten Lochmueller, Gretchen Carrel, Keegan Roper, Keely Thomas, Seth Lochmueller; and 6 great grandchildren. Beside her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Earl B. Bolyard and two brothers, Paul and Richard Bradtmiller.

A celebration of Selma’s life will be at 11:00 am on Thursday, October 20, 2011 at Bethany Lutheran Church 2435 Engle Rd., Ft. Wayne. Visitation will be from 4-8 pm on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home for Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Rd., Ft. Wayne. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethany Lutheran Church or American Alzheimers Association.
