Obituary of Ryan Michael Hadley
Legendary tattoo artist, Ryan Hadley, aka Death Metal Superman, headbanged his way into the afterlife on June 20, 2024. He was 46 when his kryptonite cancer stole his last breath. He was a small-town boy from Huntington, IN that turned his big dreams into reality in downtown Fort Wayne. He became one of the world’s best tattoo artists, and opened four art galleries/tattoo shops – he was always reinventing himself. He got his mother, Janifer Hadley’s dramatics and his father, Michael Hadley’s stubbornness. His two surviving sisters Tina Hadley and Tamara Hadley can contest to that. Ryan married a lot. In 2013, he married his latest wife, Sinja Hadley and they had four children – Dagon Hadley (11), Havoc Hadley (10), Harlow Hadley (2) and stepdaughter Vienna Schultis (16). Ryan also had three other children he loved dearly – Grayson Hadley (11), Mallory Magner (20) and Whitney Hadley-Salay (28). To say he will be missed is the understatement of the century. The world is a far less interesting place without his twisted sense of humor and quick wit. His deep chuckle that ended on a high note and a “hehe” that would make you laugh with him. He thought highly of himself to say the least – his ego could knock out Rocky with one punch. He always thought his “vessel” was too weak to contain his energy – could probably blame the ADD for that. The world needed his unapologetic ruthlessness, with a touch of kindness to lessen the sting. He was a mentor to so many aspiring artists and influenced more than anyone ever realized. He will forever be an inspiration to all us dreamers. Thank you, Ryan, for teaching the world to appreciate the beauty of darkness and to never let anything hold you back. As Ryan would say “Just do it”. The funeral service will be held at 3pm on Friday June 28, 2024, at Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services – Mungovan, 2114 S. Calhoun St., Ft. Wayne, IN 46802. Eric Wood will be conducting the service. Visitation will be held from 1pm to 3pm. Arrangements entrusted to Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services – Mungovan. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Whitney Hadley-Salay at 2114 S. Calhoun Street, Fort Wayne, IN 46802.
