Ruth Marie Rinker, 91, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2016, at Bethlehem Woods Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born February 7, 1924 in Peoria, Ill., she was a daughter of the late William Stanley and Ruth (Passwater) Myer. Ruth was an Instructor with Magnavox for over nine years from which she retired in 1985 and was also a member of Beacon Heights Church of the Brethren for over 20 years. She enjoyed spending time at the lake, playing cards, and crocheting. She is survived by her son, John (Patricia) Rinker of Fort Wayne.; three grandchildren, DJ Rinker and Brian Rinker, both of Albuquerque, NM, and Karla (Jeff) Sands of Fort Wayne; one great-granddaughter, Olivia Sands; and daughter-in-law, Debbie Rinker of Albuquerque, NM. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Fred L. Rinker; and son, David Rinker. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at 11:00am at Hockemeyer and Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road Rd., Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior; Rev. Pastor Brian Flory officiating. Calling will also be held on Friday, January 29, 2016 from 2-4pm & 6-8pm at the funeral home. Burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne. Memorials may be made to Beacon Heights Church of the Brethren or to the American Heart Association.
