Russel Rex McClure

Russel R. McClure, 77, of Fort Wayne, passed away Friday, July 11, 2014. He was born on January 29, 1937 in Continential, Ohio to the late Everett and Violet (Fruchey) McClure. He worked at and retired as a systems analyst manager at GE for 22 years. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed traveling the world, golfing, coaching basketball at St. John’s Catholic Church, New Haven and St. Peter’s Catholic Church and volunteering at St. Mary’s Soup Kitchen and for Homebound Meals. Surviving family include his wife, Barbara McClure; sons, Jeffrey (Jane) McClure, Dennis (Susan) McClure; granddaughters, Emily, Meagan, Madeline; and siblings, Dana, Marie, Cleona, Larry, Earl, and Vinal. A Mass of Christian burial will be 11:00 am on Friday, July 18, 2014 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 1101 Lafayette St., Fort Wayne. There will be a gathering of family and friends following the Mass at the St. Mary’s Soup Kitchen fellowship hall. Burial will be in Middle Creek Cemetery, Grover Hill, Ohio. In lieu of flowers the family would like memorials to be made to St. Mary's Soup Kitchen.
