Roy Peters Jr.

Roy Peters Jr, Dad to his daughters, Papa to his grandchildren, and Bud to everyone else passed away peacefully at his home November 8. He celebrated his 93rd birthday with his family on August 18, 2018. He was a 1943 graduate of North Side High School and joined the Marines that year. He returned to work at GTE and Verizon retiring in 1990. He was a member for over 50 years of the Huntertown Lodge now known as the Leo Lodge 224 F & AM. He was also a member of the VFW and American Legion 499. He is survived by his daughters Jane Hall, Julie (Dr. Jerry) Dearth, and Jill Dietel, 8 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter, and sister, Beverly McBride. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dolores who passed in 2015; parents, Roy and Erin (Wright) Peters; siblings, Opal and Glenn Conkling, Virginia Jackson, Betty J Peters, and Earl and Dorothy Peters, and son-in-law, Ralph Hack. Memorial service will be held at 3pm on December 1, 2018. Visitation will be held two hours prior from 1 to 3 at D.O. McComb and Sons Lakeside Park, 1140 Lake Ave., Fort Wayne, IN 46805. Memorial contributions may be made to the Fort Wayne Honor Flight.
