Rosemary Baker

Rosemary 'Rosie' Baker, age 87, of Fort Wayne, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2023. She was born February 5, 1936 in rural Noble County to the late Harry and Bernadine Whetzel.
Rosie enjoyed her time working as a switchboard operator for GTE, where she had many friends. Rosie spent her time quilting, sewing, baking, gardening, reading, and doing her search-a-word puzzles. She was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, where she served on numerous committees including the Food Bank.
Rosie is survived her daughters Christy Bobay, Becky (Jeff) Gongwer; step son, Mike (Karen) Baker; step daughter-in law, Janet Baker; grandsons Alex Bobay, lan Gongwer, Thomas Bobay, and Joshua Bobay; step granddaughters, Emily Crossman, and Courtney Baker; and three step great-granddaughters, Lily and Jane Crossman and Cora Hofeditz. Rosemary was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Baker; and step son, Dave Baker.
Funeral Service is 11:00 am Friday, October 27, 2023 at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, 2305 Goshen Road with calling one-hour prior. Friends and family will be received 4:00pm to 7:00 pm Thursday, October 26, 2023 at D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Homes - Covington Knolls, 8325 Covington Road.
Memorial Contributions may be directed to St. Matthew's Lutheran Church or Stillwater Hospice.
