Ronald Laverne Cook

Ronald Laverne Cook, 86, of Fort Wayne, passed this life on Friday, January 20, 2023. Ron was a caring man who lived life to its fullest, loved his many rescue dogs, was an avid outdoorsman, and always looked forward to the company of his family and friends. Born May 06, 1936 in Ft Wayne, he was the oldest son of Harry and Virginia (Hilker) Cook. A graduate of North Side High School, Ron proudly served his country in the 101st Airborne Division, and retired from the Ft Wayne Parks Department after many years of service. Ron was a regular at Komet games, Big Eye Fish, and Coney Island; and was known as ‘RC’ at his favorite neighborhood watering holes. Ron is survived by his brother Robert (Sandy) Cook, four niece and nephew, and nine great-niece and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother David Cook. Funeral service will be 1:30pm, Friday, January 27, 2023, at D.O. McComb and Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Ave, Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. Calling will also be held from 2 to 4pm, Thursday, January 26, 2023, at the funeral home. Inurnment will be in Catholic Cemetery, at a later date.
