IN THE CARE OF
Greenlawn Funeral Home
Rodney Ray Spencer, 69, of Fort Wayne passed away unexpectedly, Saturday, July 13, 2024 at his home. Rod was born January 15, 1955 in Wabash County. He married Lorra Lee Spencer, she preceded him in death in 2021. Rod was a veteran of the United States Navy and was very proud to have served his country. He enjoyed woodworking, reading fantasy novels, history, and good music. His fur babies, Gimli, Cassie and George took care of him when others couldn't. Family was his world. He loved spending time with all of them, especially the grandchildren. Respect was very important to him and he was a man of strong convictions and opinions. He would gladly share them with you. Be prepared for a good debate should you disagree. He is survived by his daughter, Miranda (Tim) Zoch; two grandchildren, Isaac and Peter Zoch; his mother, Deane Gherline; a brother, Kevin (Marilyn) Teusch; a niece Stacey (Jason) Spuller; a nephew, Corey (Jennifer) Teusch; his “adopted” daughter, Jessica (Brandon) Fox and her two children, Makayla and Zoe. Funeral services for Rod will be 1:00 PM, Saturday, July 20, 2024 at Greenlawn Funeral Home, 6750 Covington Road, Fort Wayne, 46804. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park with Military Honors rendered by the United States Navy and the American Legion. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana.
