Roberta A. Farmer

Roberta A. Farmer, 89, passed away Friday, February 22, 2019 at her residence in Fort Wayne, IN. She was born in Mosherville, MI to the late Bernard E. and Bessie M. Thompson. She married Arthur T. Farmer on April 22, 1955 in Pleasant Lake, Indiana and he preceded her in death in 2013. She graduated in 1951 from International College of Business as an executive secretary. Roberta was a devoted wife and mother, staying home and raising her children. Later in life she worked for Supermarket Service for 20 years and was a member of Anthony Wayne First Church of God. She also volunteered at Associate Churches Food Bank and Mission House. Roberta enjoyed reading, baking, and gardening. Above all she loved spending time with her grandchildren. Surviving are her children, Cindy (Dewitt) Cearbaugh and Douglas A. (Claire) Farmer; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and sister, Nina Fast. Roberta was also proceeded in death by her son, Dennis Farmer; four sisters; and one brother. Funeral service 11:30 am Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at D.O. McComb and Sons Funeral Home Covington Knolls with calling one hour prior to the service. Visitation from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, February 25, 2019 at D.O. McComb and Sons Funeral Home Covington Knolls. Burial in Covington Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Anthony Wayne First Church of God or Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home.
