OBITUARY
Robert J. Paul
September 17, 1925 – March 6, 2014
ROBERT J. PAUL, passed away peacefully into the arms of his Savior on Thursday, March 6, 2014, at Lutheran Life Villages of Fort Wayne. Born Aug. 17, 1925, in Fort Wayne, he was the son of Fred and Alma (Rothenberger) Paul. On June 4, 1950, he was united in marriage to Betty Ann (Steffen) Paul at Trinity Lutheran Church, Winfield, Kan. They had three children, John (who preceded him in death), Jane (Rev. David) Boedecker and Joanne (Rev. Wendy Vander Hart). He was associated with Fort Wayne National Bank for 37 years where he served as manager of the Anthony-McKinnie office and advanced to Assistant Vice-President of the Mortgage and Loan Department in 1969. He then became Development Director of Lutheran Homes. He served 10 years (from 1969 to 1979) as president of the Lutheran Home Association and was a board member for 19 years. He was an active member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Fort Wayne. He was past president of the congregation and served on the Stewardship, Planning, Building and Call committees. He served in the Armed Forces during the Korean War as a member of the army band from 1950 to 1951. Also surviving are his daughter-in-law, Margaret Franson; and two granddaughters, Emily Boedecker and Sara (Kelley) Johnston-Boedecker. Service is 11 a.m. Monday, March 10, 2014, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 917 W. Jefferson Blvd., with visitation two hours prior. Memorials may be directed to Emanuel Lutheran Church.
