At Archbishop McNicholas High School, Robert was a student and an athlete. He then attended Xavier University in Cincinnati, earning a B.S. in chemistry. Subsequently, he was awarded a scholarship to Clarkson University in Potsdam, New York and it was there he obtained an M.S. in chemistry.
After teaching chemistry for several years at Marimont High School, Robert worked for the Environmental Protection Agency in Cincinnati. Eventually he moved to Fort Wayne after his wife Barrye, who had just completed an OB/GYN residency, took a job here. Robert spent the rest of his working career with Group Dekko in Laotto, Indiana, where he was Vice President, managing the Laotto branch.
Among the couple's friends, Robert was known as a great cook. He organized the food for the annual fishing trip he took with his buddies. He golfed on weekends. After his retirement, he shocked his wife by announcing his intention to become an artist. He accomplished this with his usual talent and dedication. He very much enjoyed his association with the Fort Wayne Art Guild.
Robert is survived by his wife Kathryn Barrye Einhaus of Fort Wayne, Indiana; son, Kurt (Rebecca née Williams) Einhaus of Beverly, Massachusetts; daughter, Portia Einhaus of Covington, Kentucky; grandchildren, Avabella and Zuri Einhau; and a brother, James Einhaus of Richmond, Virginia. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first son, Eric Einhaus; and sister, Lois Nicholai.
A memorial gathering will be held between 1-4 pm on Saturday, October 26th, 2024, at D.O. McComb and Sons Funeral Homes - Pine Valley Park, 1320 East Dupont Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
