ROBERT J. BROOKS, 77, of Fort Wayne, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, Jan. 10, 2011, 2:19 p.m., at Hospice Home. Born Oct. 6, 1933, in Columbus, Miss., he was the son of the late James Joseph Brooks and Annie Dale (Underwood) Brooks. He was a painter. He held the position of High Priesthood at Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints. Surviving are his sons, Chris (Kathy) Brooks, Brian Brooks, Glenn Brooks, Daniel (Cathy) Brooks, and Aaron Brooks; daughters, Gloria Chase, Donna (Martin) Turner and Helen (Butch) Walters; sister, Clara Jahn; grandchildren, Nick, Maggie, Zach, Samantha, Destiny, Shawyna, Joseph, Jacqueline, Rachel, Jesse, Stephanie, Joshua, Adam, Robert, Austin, Janet, Nicole, Josh, Brian, Bryanna, Braxton, Brittney, Alicejai, Asia, Suzanna, Uriah, Azariah, Christopher, Cody, Chelsea, Kristi, Sara, Adam, Coral, Colin, Destinee, Faith, Isaiah, and Haley; great-grandchildren, Draven, Aiden, Taylor, Alexis, Gabe, Mattison, Danielle, Camren, Rhyleigh, Braden, Christiana, Jaelyn, Marcella, Natasia, Alijah, Arianna, Robert, and Austin; and beloved dog, Foxy. He was also preceded in death by his son, Wayne Brooks; siblings, Mary, Annie May, Vernon, Inez, Chris, JB, Willis., and Clifton. Funeral service is 1 p.m. Monday at C.M. Sloan & Sons Funeral Home, 1327 N. Wells St., with calling two hours prior. Burial in Highland Park Cemetery. Preferred memorials to Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home or Home Bound Meals.
