Robert David Black

Robert David Black, 54, passed away May 17, 2024 at Parkview Hospital Randallia in Fort Wayne, IN. He was also born at Parkview Hospital Randallia on September 4, 1969. He was the son of David Leon Black of Fort Wayne, IN and late mother Judy K. Black.

Robert graduated from Snider High School in 1988. All of his life, Bob absolutely loved family get togethers (Shindigs). Bob was a very loving person who never knew a stranger. He was always interested in how you were and what you were going to do. His very favorite thing to do was attend Komets games and always had season tickets. He participated in Special Olympics bowling. He was a Staff Assistant for ARC Easter Seals and ADC. He loved going to the Arc Easter Seal dances and going on outings with his staff. He went to Camp Lutherhaven for many years in the summer as well. He enjoyed coming home on every holiday and weekends to be with his family. He loved the old 70’s shows and listening to music. He was an avid vinyl collector when he was young. He also loved going to Cedar Point and riding the roller coasters. He enjoyed going out to eat each Friday with his staff. He was blessed with family and staff who took him to all the places he loved!

Robert is survived by his father, David Leon Black of Fort Wayne, IN; brother, Bryan E. (Nicole) Black of Fort Wayne, IN; nephews, Matthew David Black and Bryan Michael Black, brother in-law Brad York of Cunningham Tennessee, nephews Chad (Kim) York of Huntley Illinois, and Jeremy (April) of Antioch California, half-sister, Carol (Dave) Westphal of Idaho; niece Stephanie.

Funeral service will be 12:00 pm Saturday June 1, 2024, at Epiphany Lutheran Church 6606 Maplecrest Road Fort Wayne, IN, with visitation one hour prior. Visitation also from 5-8 pm Friday May 31, 2024 at D.O. McComb and Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home 1320 E. Dupont Road, Fort Wayne, IN. Burial at Covington Memorial Gardens Cemetery at 8408 Covington Road. Memorials may be made to Epiphany Lutheran Church or checks made out to Bryan Black to buy Komets tickets for Arc Easter Seals friends of Bob. (Just put Komets tickets in the subject line).
