Rita L. Weekly

Rita L Weekly, passed away on May 21, 2021 surrounded by the love of her sisters. After the challenges of CHF and then a stroke, Rita eventually remained in the care of assisted living and long term care facilities where she hoped and strived and prayed for greater independence. She was 62 years of age.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Pat and her sweet sister Marilyn. She is survived by her sisters, Judy (Mike) Frieders, Theresa Weekly, Patty (and the late John) Floyd, She enjoyed the love of her nieces and great nieces, cherished cousins, special godson and much loved friends!

Rita had a gift of long term memory, telling great stories from childhood and the past and knowing where the best deals were out there! As a registered donor she gave her vision (eyes) to Science. She was patiently waiting to win the lottery! She was strong and courageous, making lemonade out of the lemons life gave her. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.

Rita was born and raised in New Haven, Indiana. She was a gifted hair dresser then changed careers working in the Insurance Industry as a claims adjuster for 20 years. Pre arrangements were made and family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration Memorial service on June 13, 2021 from 3-5 at C.M Sloan & Sons Funeral Home, 1327 N. Wells St., Ft. Wayne, IN 45808.
