Richard Edward Wolf

Richard Edward Wolf, Sr, age 84 of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away at his home on Sunday, July 30th, 2023, surrounded by his wife and sons. Richard married his high school sweetheart, Sandra (Loucks) Wolf in July of 1958 and she survives. Richard and Sandra were blessed with three sons who also survive: Richard, Jr. (Lisa) Wolf of Fort Wayne, IN; Brian, Sr. (Theresa) Wolf of Fort Wayne IN; and Todd (Lori) Wolf of Angola, IN. He also leaves behind 7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren with two more on the way. Richard is also survived by a sister, Barbara O’Dell of California, and a brother, Don Wolf of Angola, IN.

Richard was born in Angola, IN, to Lewis and Mary (Blust) Wolf on May 3, 1939. Richard served in the Army National Guard and enjoyed volunteering as a Scout leader as his boys were growing up. For 35+ years, Richard worked as a plumber – initially as a co-owner of D&J Plumbing in Fort Wayne, IN and then as the solo owner after the retirement of his longtime business partner. He enjoyed working with wood and often created beautiful pieces for family members. He was most known for his homemade ice cream, which was often requested for family get-togethers.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents – Lewis and Mary Wolf; brother – James (Jim) Wolf; and sister Betty Penner.

There will be a graveside service to honor Richard on August 26, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. at Highland Cemetery in Fort Wayne, IN. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Wounded Warriors or Honor Flight Northeast Indiana.
