Richard K. Smith

Richard K. Smith, 90, of Fort Wayne, passed away Wednesday, September 3, 2014. He was born on June 20, 1924 to the late Ralph and Erma (Brown) Smith. He worked for 40 years at North American Van Lines and was president of the quality control association. He enjoyed his dogs, fishing, writing in retirement, swimming, cars, music, and especially his family. He was a former president of the Shores of Oakborough Community Association. Surviving family include his wife, Ramona Smith; daughter, Renee (Dave) Milligan; granddaughters, Rachel and Sarah Milligan; long time caregiver and cousin, Sara Fry; sister, Betty Keppler; and sister in law, Virginia Hattendorf. Besides his parents, he was preceded in passing by his son, Richard Denton Smith. A memorial service will be 12:00 pm on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at Greenlawn Funeral Home, 6750 Covington Road, Fort Wayne with a gathering of friends and family one hour prior. Memorials may be made to Covington Manor activity department. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
