Richard Elvin Shaw

Richard (Dick) E Shaw, 86, of Harlan IN, died Wednesday, July 20th 2022 at Canterbury Nursing Home. Born in Toledo, OH on November 30, 1935, he was the son of Elvin and Helen Shaw. On Sept 12, 1959 he married Marylin Tuggle, she survives in Harlan. Dick was a member of the Harlan United Methodist Church. He was in the US Navy for 4 years, managed a City Service gas station on the Ohio Turnpike, owned a fuel route in Hudson Mi and then retired from BF Goodrich in 1998 after 30 years of service. He loved spending time with family and golfing. Fun fact: Dick was born the same year as Elvis and could bust a move or two, just like him!
Preceded in death by his parents Elvin Shaw and Helen Shaw Hawkins and brother Robert Shaw.
He is survived by daughters Terri (Jeff) Lothamer and Tina (Doug) Cline; Sister Reda Stiebler and brother Larry Shaw. Also survived by granddaughters, Andrea (Cody) Brooks, Valerie (Juan) Ramirez and Tiffany (Greg) Schwemer and many great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be 1:30pm, Tuesday, July 26, 2022, at D.O. McComb and Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road, Fort Wayne, with calling from 11:30am, until time of service. Burial will be in Scipio Cemetery, Harlan. In Lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to Harlan United Methodist Church Food Bank or Harlan Youth Center.
