Richard G. Parsons Sr.

RICHARD G. "DICK" PARSONS, 82, of Fort Wayne, died on Sunday, Sept. 29, 2013, at Vibra Hospital of Fort Wayne. Born Oct. 3, 1930, in Van Wert, Ohio, he was a son of the late Carl Parsons and Alice (McCray). He worked for the Fort Wayne Parks Tree Department and was a member of V.F.W. Post 4717, Wolf Lake. Surviving are his son, Richard G. (Patricia) Parsons Jr. of Fort Wayne; daughter, Debra (Rick) McConnell-Cool of Huntertown; five grandchildren, Adam, Adrian, Lindsey, Josh, and Samantha; three great-grandchildren, Braxton, Quaid and Ayda; and 10 siblings, Shirley (Jim) Arnett, Martha (Frank) Stripe, Romaine (Donnie) Sparks, Myles (Carol) Parsons, Carl (Judy) Parsons, Roger (Linda) Parsons, Doyle (Pam) Parsons, and Merle (Deb) Parsons. And step children; Candy (Jim) Teague of Ft. Wayne, IN, Bud (Dawn) Sanderson of Florida and Ken Sanderson of Ft. Wayne, IN. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Anita J. (Wysong); brother, Kenneth Parsons; and sisters, Betty Vaught and Barbara Klosterman. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013, at C.M. Sloan & Sons Funeral Home, 1327 N. Wells St., with calling one hour prior. Calling also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4, 2013, at the funeral home.
