Richard Henry Meyer

Richard (Dick) Henry Meyer of Fort Wayne, IN passed away at home on January 4, 2024. He was born April 25, 1928 in Henry County, Ohio to the late Otto & Helen Meyer. Dick served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of the American Legion. He retired from GTE in 1989 after 33 years of service as an Engineering Manager. He is survived by his wife of 64 years Judith (Henschen); daughter Elizabeth Meyer; son Jeff (Mindy) Meyer; grandsons Jackson (Josie) Meyer, Anthony (Marissa) Meyer and Maxwell Meyer; great granddaughters Willow Meyer and Tillian Meyer; as well as his sisters Meta Walter and Betty Hoy. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Elmer, Julius, Robert, Paul, Ervin and Otto Meyer; and sisters Euretha Koch and Ruth Meyer. Dick was an active member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church where he sang in the choir for more than 60 years. He was an avid golfer up to the last year of his life and also loved spending time at the lake with his family. A visitation for Richard will be held Thursday, January 11, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, 2305 Goshen Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46808. Following the visitation will be a funeral service starting at 11:00 AM, at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, 2305 Goshen Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46808.
