Richard "Rich" Gene Berndt

Richard Gene “Rich” Berndt, passed surrounded by family on December 13, 2018. He was born in Fort Wayne, IN on September 5, 1971, the son of the late Albert and Rosa Berndt. Rich worked as a laborer at Tippmann Industrial Products. Rich was an Indianapolis Colts fan, and enjoyed taking fishing trips with the boys. In his spare time he worked on cars and guns. Surviving are his sons, Matthew and Michael Berndt; siblings, Brenda Lovell, Wanda Berndt, Junnet Rollins, Elizabeth Berndt, Ronald (Susan) Berndt, and Billy Berndt; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his significant other of 25 years, Ora Jean Childers; sister, Monica Kay Berndt. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at Mungovan Simple 2114 S. Calhoun St., Fort Wayne, IN 46802. Memorial contributions may be made to Rich’s sons, in care of Ronald Berndt.
