Rex D. Scott, 95, of Fort Wayne, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 5, 2022 at his residence. He was born on December 6, 1926 in Bluffton, Indiana to the late Harold V. and Iris (Motz) Scott. Mr. Scott honorably served his country during World War II as a Radio Operator with the Merchant Marines. Rex graduated from Ball State University. On June 10, 1951, in Huntington, Indiana, he married Shirley E. Eby. Together Rex and Shirley raised two children, Christiane and Michael. Mr. Scott retired as a Trust Officer for Lincoln National Bank. Rex was a member of Brookside church in Fort Wayne. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Scott; children, Christiane (Patrick) Gibson and Michael (Pamela) Scott; grandchildren, Alison (Kyle) Elsworth, Lindsay (Zack) Spieth and Erin (Aaron) Christy; great-grandchildren, Ashton, Kieran, Avery, Mackenzie, Jillian, Grayson, Oliver and Violet. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 10, 2022 at 10:30 AM at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 Saint Joe Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46735. Calling will be Thursday, June 9, 2022 from 4 PM to 8 PM at the funeral home and one hour before the service on Friday. Burial will follow the service at Highland Park Cemetery.
