Remio A.M. Batalona, 88, of Fort Wayne passed away on Wednesday, December 27, 2017. He was born on March 22, 1929 in Batavia, Indonesia, a son of the late Pilomeno and Wilhelmenia (Sleebos) Batalona. He retired from Phelps Dodge which later became Rea Magnet Wire where he’d worked as a chemical engineer. He was a member at Lincolnshire Church of the Brethren and enjoyed spending his time playing tennis, riding his bike, and taking photos. Surviving family include his wife, Leonie Batalona; daughters, Patty (Doug) Fasick, Felicia Wise, Marcia (Dennis) Reimschisel; grandchildren, A.J., Scott, Nick, Josh, and Sarah. Besides his parents, he was preceded in passing by his brother, Armand Batalona. Funeral service will be 1:00 pm on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services, 2403 East Wallen Rd., Fort Wayne with visitation starting at 11:00 am. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery, Fort Wayne. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Allen County SPCA.
