Rebecca D. Mulkey, 81, of Fort Wayne passed away peacefully on Monday, December 14, 2020. She was born on July 14, 1939 in Fort Wayne, a daughter of the late James and Etta (Foster) Ware. She earned her Master’s degree from St. Francis University. She later went on to work as a teacher for 30 years with Fort Wayne Community Schools. She loved being involved in her church Bethany United Methodist. She also enjoyed going to dances where she met her husband of 15 years Keith Mulkey. She was an explorer at heart traveling to places like China, Hong Kong, France and Germany in her youth. Later in life she enjoyed going on bus trips all around our great country. Surviving family include her loving husband, Keith Mulkey; daughter, Kelly Corbin; son, Rick Chronister; grandson, Paul Chronister; and sister, Miriam Dettmer. Besides her parents, she was preceded in passing by two siblings Noel (Buddy) Emmett Ware and Roberta J Moody. A private service will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Prairie Grove Cemetery, Fort Wayne. Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home for Funerals, Fort Wayne are handling arrangements.
