Raymond V. "Ray" Taylor

RAYMOND V. 'RAY' TAYLOR GODFREY — Raymond V. "Ray" Taylor, 72, of Godfrey, Illinois, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2016, surrounded by his family. He was born on Oct. 7, 1943, in Granite City, Illinois, to the late Virgil and Anna Mae (Scott) Taylor. He was the owner and operator of Raymond V. Taylor Insurance along with his wife, Janet. He enjoyed fishing, riding his bike, camping, traveling, and spending time at Disney World. He will be remembered as a man who loved spending time with his family. Surviving family include his wife of 55 years, Janet; children, Bonnie (Ron) Hecht, Raymond (Lisa) Taylor Jr., Dawn Bertsch; grandchildren, Christina Burns, Ronnie Hecht Jr., Nicholas Raymond Hecht, Michelle Taylor, Kathryn Taylor, Christian Taylor, Robert Diserens, Brittney Adkins, Isabella Rose Price; 14 great-grandchildren; and his miniature schnauzer, Barnabas Bailey. Besides his parents, he was preceded in passing by his grandmother, Wilma Mae "Greenie" Gruenfelder. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 11, 2016, at Greenlawn Funeral Home, 6750 Covington Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana, where Funeral Service will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 12. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children Hospital.
