RALPH E. HOUSER, 88, of Fort Wayne, died on Sunday, April 21, 2013, at Miller's Merry Manor, LaGrange. Born Oct. 29, 1924, in Fort Wayne, he was a son of Howard and Mabel (Finkhouse) Houser. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1943 to 1946. He was a machinist at Harvester for 18 years, retiring in 1982. He was a member of American Legion Post 47 and Ressurection Lutheran Church. Surviving are his son, Steven E. (Tamara) Houser of Springfield, Ohio; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Juanita Houser of Fort Wayne. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Helen M. (Shively) Houser, in 2002; daughter, Marjorie M. Richards, in 2010; son-in-law, Robert Richards; brother, Robert Houser; and sister, Lois McComb. Funeral service is 2 p.m. Thursday at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, with calling one hour prior. Calling also from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial in Greenlawn Cemetery. Preferred Memorials to Resurrection Lutheran Church.
