Phyllis Timm, (87), went home to be with her Lord on March 31, 2018. She resided the last 2 1/2 years at Golden Years Homestead. She was born to Lester and Marie Van Winkle in Monon, Indiana, on July 9, 1930. The family moved multiple times during her childhood, as Lester worked for a construction company in western Indiana and eastern Illinois. The family eventually settled in Tuscola, Illinois. She was a cheerleader for elementary and high school athletic teams and was crowned Homecoming Queen her senior year. Phyllis attended Eastern Illinois University until her marriage in 1950 to George Timm, also of Tuscola. She and George and their family lived in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Clinton, Illinois, the Chicago area suburbs in Illinois, and Toronto, Ontario, Canada before settling in Fort Wayne in 1971 where she worked as an office manager. Phyllis and George have three children: Jean Ann (Douglas) Deller, Fort Wayne; David Van (Cyndy) Timm, Fort Wayne; and Mark Edwin (Lynn) Timm, Hartselle, Alabama. She and George have five granddaughters, three grandsons and twelve great-grandchildren. Service is 11:00 am, Saturday, April 7, 2018 at Northeast Christian Church. Calling at Northeast Christian Church, 4900 Stellhorn Road, Friday, April 6, 2018, 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm. In Lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
