Patricia (Thoma) Mallers, 79, passed away Saturday, July 7, 2018 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. Born in Bluffton, IN, Patricia worked as a teacher with Crescent Avenue Weekday School for 20 years, retiring in 1997. She was a graduate of DePauw University where she received her B.A. and Indiana University where she received her M.S. in early childhood education. She was a member of Covenant United Methodist Church, Kappa Kappa Gamma, Church of the Covenant United Methodist Women, Pastor's Bible Study, and Passages Book Club. She formerly volunteered at Turnstone Center and Homebound Meals. She was a woman of strong faith and was devoted to caring for her husband Jim. Surviving are her husband of 57 years, James C. Mallers of Fort Wayne; children, Jennifer (Lowell) Lindstrom of Glen Ellyn, IL, William C. (Gretchen) Mallers of Fort Wayne, and Douglas J. (Tricia) Mallers of Fort Wayne; sister, Jane Hammond of Webster Groves, MO; and seven grandchildren, Will, Andrew, and Carter Lindstrom, Audrey and Kyle Mallers, and Jim and Mark Mallers. Patricia was preceded in death by her father, William H. Thoma; mother, Harriet Thoma; and sister, Betty Weikert. Service is 11:30 am, Thursday, July 12, 2018 at Covenant United Methodist Church, 10001 Coldwater Road with an hour of calling prior to the service. Calling at D.O.
