Nila J. Hansen

Nila Jean Hansen went to be with her Lord on Wednesday morning at 8:30 a.m. She was born on December 16, 1921 to the late Glen and Jennie Greek. She was a lifelong member of First Church of God and later Trier Ridge Community Church of God. She was also a member of the Star of the East Chapter 514. She was a graduate of South Side High School. She met her surviving husband, of 67 years, Alfred, in 1943 while volunteering at the U.S.O. She worked at General Electric until moving with her husband to their new farm. Twenty-eight years later, they hit the road in their R.V. and spent the winters in Florida and during the warmer months they criss-crossed the nation. They retired from the road in 2007, moving from Florida in 2009, to River Terrace Estates, in Bluffton, Indiana, where they took excellent care of Nila in her final days. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 15, 2013 at Trier Ridge Community Church of God, 7501 Hessen Castle Rd., Ft. Wayne, IN, with calling one hour prior. Visitation will also be from 5-8 p.m., Friday, June 14 at Elzey Patterson Rodak Home For Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Ft. Wayne, IN 46809. Burial will be in Prairie Grove Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Trier Ridge Community Church of God.
