Nellie C. Pettit, 75, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Thursday August 13, 2015, at her home surrounded by her family. Born on Tuesday July 30, 1940, in Cedar Falls, Iowa, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Alberta McClure and retired from Krogers as a cashier.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Donald S. Pettit; children Debbie (David) Whitfield, Peggy (Larry) Cole, Barb (Terry) Whitfield, Artus Folck, Don Pettit and Daniel Pettit; 15 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and five siblings. She was also preceded in death by two siblings.
Memorial service will be 1pm Tuesday August 18, at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne. Memorial donations may be given to the Make-a-Wish Foundation.
