Nancy L. Gerardot

Nancy L. Gerardot, 74, of Yoder, Indiana passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, March 2, 2022. She was born September 17, 1947 in Richlands, Virginia to the late Ursel and Edith Crawford. Nancy married her high school sweetheart in 1964 and relocated to Indiana, where she was a lifelong resident of the Waynedale area. She worked at Kmart 4067 for 35 years and retired early in 2007. After a short time off she then went to work at CVS on Getz Road until she officially retired in 2014. Nancy enjoyed her retired life by fishing with her husband and spending time at their place on Lake Erie. She also enjoyed her retirees luncheons with the Kmart Crew. Nancy had an obsession with word search puzzles and you could often find her in her recliner with a puzzle book, a cup of coffee, and her fur baby, Mia on her lap. Life blessed her with one great- granddaughter, Natalie, who she idolized. She and Natalie would have tea parties while she was residing in Wisconsin for a short time. After her life partner and husband passed away, she had rekindled her relationship with her first husband, Danny. Together for 18 months until her passing, they enjoyed each others company with dinner dates and home movie dates with popcorn and ice cream. Most of all they enjoyed the time they had together. Nancy is survived be her daughter, Reba (Martin) Hernandez of Fond du lac, WI; granddaughter, Della (Andrew) Bruno of Fond du lac, WI; great-granddaughter, Natalie Bruno; numerous nieces, nephews, friends and extended family; and special friend, Danny McGlothlin. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Kent Gerardot; and brother, William Meade. A memorial service will be held at 2:30pm on Friday, March 11, 2022 at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home for Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46809 with visitation beginning at 12:30pm. Final resting to follow the service at Prairie Grove Cemetery.
