Nancy L. Cole

Nancy L. Cole, 93, died on October 22, 2013 Born on June 21, 1920, in Weston West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Aubrey F. and Lotta L Lawson. She graduated from Weston High School in 1938, and attended West Virginia Wesleyan College, Buckhannon WV, and worked at her father’s hospital, General Hospital of Weston, before moving to Fort Wayne, Indiana. In Fort Wayne she was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Orchard Ridge Country Club,past member of Trinity Chapter O.E.S., the Fort Wayne Women’s Club, and the Arthur Murray dance studio. She was also a member of the league of Women Voters, Yarnelle Child Study Group, and a volunteer at Parkview Hospital in the first group of surgical hostesses.

She is survived by her daughter, Mary Carol Stidd, of Fort Wayne; grandson, Elliott Stidd; sister-in-law, Louise Lawson, of Fort Lauderdale, FL; nephews, Scott (Valerie) Lawson, and their son Scott, of South Carolina, and Robert (Martha) Lawson, and their daughter, Holly, of Fort Lauderdale, FL. She was also preceded in death by her husband Harry S. Cole, in 1972; and brother, John F. Lawson, in 1997.

Funeral service will be 1 PM Monday October 28, at Greenlawn Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 6750 Covington Road, Fort Wayne. Calling will be from 2 to 5 PM Sunday October 27, at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be given to her grandson’s college education.
