Nancy Jane Berry, age 89 passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2024. She was born February 14, 1934 in Reading, Michigan to the late Hubert and Pauline (née Young) Snow. Nancy graduated from Angola High School, Class of '52 and would marry the late E. Thomas Berry on May 6, 1954.
She would spend her career in the banking industry prior to her retirement in 2005 as an Assistant Vice-President, after fourteen years of service, with Professional Federal Credit Union.
Nancy was selfless and spent many hours volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House at Parkview Hospital, Messiah Lutheran Church as well as other charitable organizations. She had many interests and loved to garden, craft beautiful floral arrangements, sewing, crafting, and could often be found baking her world-famous cookies but she cherished the time spent with friends and family the most, especially the grandchildren.
Nancy is survived by her children, Barbara (Richard) Franklin and John (Charis) Berry of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Dawn (Kenneth) Dowden, David Berry, Aaron (Katie) Berry, Tony (Samantha) Franklin, Alyssa (Tommy) Kehoe, and Jeffrey (Michelle) Franklin; great-grandchildren, Lilly Franklin, Charity Franklin, and Felicity Franklin; and sister, Sally (Robert) Palmer; sisters-in-law, Nancy A. Berry and Emily Chapin; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, E. Thomas Berry; son, Michael Berry; brother, Gerald Poats; and half-sister, Margaret Bauchat.
Funeral Service is 11:00 am Friday, February 2, 2024 at Messiah Lutheran Church, 7211 Stellhorn Road, Fort Wayne with calling one hour prior. Friends and family will be received 2:00 - 4:00 pm and 6:00 - 8:00 pm Thursday, February 1, 2024 at D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Homes - Pine Valley Chapel, 1320 East Dupont Road, Fort Wayne.
