Michael Eugene Snyder, 72, went to his heavenly home on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was born April 18, 1950 in Anderson, Indiana, to the late Warren and Opal Snyder.
Mike was a caring dad, grandpa, and friend. He attended Anderson High School, and had a lifelong career at Essex Wire where he worked for over 40 years until retirement. Mike attended church at the First Assembly of God in Fort Wayne, Indiana. One of his proudest personal achievements was becoming a leader in Royal Rangers, an activity based, small group church ministry for boys and young men. He also served as a coach in youth basketball, baseball, and soccer when his children were young. Mike was a hardworking and fun-loving man who loved his family. His happiest moments were those spent with his family and friends. Those who knew him best would describe him as a man who was straight forward, knew what he wanted, and often spoke his mind. In his free time, Mike enjoyed catching up with friends, watching sports on TV, fishing at the lake, spoiling his dog, Rufus, and frequenting local restaurants. He is survived by his two children, Michael Shane Snyder of Avilla, IN, Susan Feltner of Leo, IN; and five grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Pamela Snyder, and his parents, he was preceded in death be his sister, Dianne Alford, who passed away June 25, 2022.
A funeral service to honor Mike's life will be held at 4:00 pm on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, at D.O. McComb and Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 East Dupont Road, Fort Wayne, with visitation two hours prior. With a private family ceremony, he will be laid to rest at Riverview Cemetery, Churubusco, Indiana.
