Michael Bud Edgerton, 33 of Fort Wayne died suddenly in his home on March 24, 2023, with his family, from a massive heart attack. Son of Mary and Les, he was a Fort Wayne native, born August 12, 1989. He attended R Nelson Snider High School, graduating in 2008 where he then attended IPFW.
Michael always had an easy way about him and a belief that if he was interested in something, he should learn everything about it. When it came to sports, movies, music, TV and books it made him a fun conversationalist. When it came to jewelry and then cars it made him a wonderful salesman. He spent five years at Rogers & Hollands Jewelers. Looking for a bigger challenge, he joined Kelley Automotive Group and found his friendly, easy-going manner and knowledge of both the vehicles and how to make it work in a monthly payment won him loyal, thankful customers. Within two years he was promoted to Sales Manager; first for Kelley Chevrolet and then transferring over to Kelley GMC.
Through mutual friends in 2017, Michael met the love of his life Victoria Tejada. They shared a sense of humor, love of food and travel. Thanksgiving Day 2021 brought their son Lewis into the world. Then on August 26, 2022 Michael and Victoria wed. The dream of building their family in the years ahead was shattered by his sudden death that has devastated his surviving family: both his parents as well as his wife and son.
Michael never needed to be the center of attention but was content to bring people together and enjoy the smiles he helped to create. His love of cinema was shared through his fun short films he made with his friends and family. An avid reader, he shared his passion through his reviews with words of wit and candor that many looked forward to. A lifelong Pacers fan, diehard SF Giants fan and Notre Dame apologist (this is our year!) paled in comparison to his year-round Christmas spirit. He was the embodiment of so much of what’s right in this world.
Along with parents Mary and Les, wife Victoria Tejada, and son Lewis Bud, Michael is also survived by sisters Britney E. (Ray) Robinson, Sienna L. (Jamie) Cox, and Maria Scheerer (Joe) Lutz.
