Mary E Robertson 87, died at Woodview Nursing Home on Thursday December 19, 2013 following an extended stay due to Alzheimer’s memory loss. She was born April 14, 1926 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Henry Schreiber, a professional baseball player, and Ellen Noon Schreiber. She attended St Joan of Arc Catholic School, Broad Ripple High School and graduated Cum Laude with a BA in English from Butler University in 1948. On July 1 1950, she was united in marriage to Charles Ford Robertson at Alpha Chi Omega sorority house on the Butler University campus.
After graduating from Butler University, Mary worked for Proctor and Gamble in Cincinnati Ohio where she traveled the country as a sales associate. She enjoyed this job but when Charlie proposed, she accepted the life of wife and homemaker. In 1952, Mary and Charlie moved to Fort Wayne where he started selling razor blades and then formed his own steel agency Robertson Associates. Six weeks prior to moving to Fort Wayne , their only child, Ann Ford Robertson was born
Mary was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church where she enjoyed worshipping with a special group of friends on Friday morning. Upon arriving in Fort Wayne, she got involved in the Newcomers Club and the United Fund campaign which she headed in 1959. She was an active and sustaining member of the Junior League. She was also a member of Little Turtle Investment Club, a book club and bridge club. She enjoyed her activities at the Fort Wayne Country Club playing in the 18-hole golf league. Charlie and Mary started the annual pre-party the day before The Mad Anthony’s golf tournament and they enjoyed their association with Indiana University Athletics until his death in December of 1983.
Mary is survived by her daughter Ann (Michael) McAlexander, of Fort Wayne, and grandchildren Michael Ford (Ellie ) McAlexander, Indianapolis , and Mary Grace McAlexander, Winston-Salem , NC.

Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 pm Friday December 27, 2013 at Trinity Episcopal Church , 611 W Berry St with visitation one hour prior at the church. Rev Thomas Hansen will officiate.
