Mary Ellen Fisher

Mary Ellen Huffman Fisher passed from this life at the age of 82 on Saturday, August 27, 2022, at home with family at her side. She was a daughter of the late James Oliver and Ethel Naomi (nee…Uhl) Huffman in Huntington, Indiana. Mary worked at Manco Products of Fort Wayne – Go Karts Division for several years. She enjoyed growing orchids, sewing, cooking, and traveling, especially to Oregon. She also loved to decorate and rearrange the furniture in her home. Mary was a former member of Bethany English Lutheran Church. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Joel Duane “Dewey” Fisher in 2015; a son, Rex A. Fisher; brother, Robert Huffman; and brothers-in-law, Robert Caley and Harold Berry. She is survived by her sons, Joel D. (Belinda) Fisher, Darrell J. (Ruth) Fisher, David Fisher, Brian K. (Michelle) Fisher; a daughter, Mary E. Fisher; sisters, Catherine Caley, Nora Berry, and Helen Huffman; a brother, James “Jim” (Lois) Huffman; 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A funeral service to honor Mary's life will be held at 1:30 pm on Thursday, September 1, 2022, at D.O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne, with visitation one hour prior. She will be laid to rest at Highland Park Cemetery, Fort Wayne.
