Marty Cade

Marty Cade, 85, of Fort Wayne passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 surrounded by love and with her family. Born in 1937 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to her beloved parents, Paul and Elvah Staight. She experienced an amazing childhood with her 3 siblings; Bob, Doug and Caroline that was filled with love and traveling. As a proud Northside High School Alumna and longtime Waynedale resident, Marty was a hardworking & dedicated single mother to her four children. Marty made unforgettable lifelong friendships with her energetic and dynamic zest for life while working at The Lantern and for the Allen County Sheriff's Department. Marty Cherished the adventures she experienced during traveling, enjoying reading, decorating for the holidays, playing cards, gardening and the annual three Rivers Parade. Marty's greatest passion and pride were her four children; Cherie, Cindy, Crissy and Derek; eight grandchildren, Sara, James, Kelly, Logan, Chelsea, Makenna, Mitch and Ashley; as well as five great- grandchildren, Mackenzie, Morgan, Jack, Adalynn and Wesley and the treasured memories they shared. A funeral service will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home for Funerals 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46809 with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also be held from 6:00pm-8:00pm on Friday, February 3, 2023 at the funeral home. Burial to follow the service at Prairie Grove Cemetery. Contributions in Marty's memory may be made to Stillwater Hospice.
