Devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who was endearing to all.
She loved her time spent on the farm over the many years.
She retired from Ameren in 1995 where she worked in many rolls as a clerk and other functions over 20 years.
Resided in Bethalto, Illinois before moving to Ft. Wayne Indiana to be close to her son and his family.
Marlene and Jerry enjoyed traveling the Country in their Motorhome over the years and had great friends from the Cardinal Club.
Surviving Marlene is her son and his wife, Greg and Amy Johnson; her grandchildren:
Nikki (Parker) Norton and Ryan Norton; Tyler Johnson; Nikki Johnson; Cassondra (Johnson) Stutzman; Jacob Stutzman; Jennessa Johnson; and six great-grandchildren; one brother, Glen Howerton.
Marlene was preceded in death by: her husband, Jerol G. Johnson; daughter and her husband, Deborah K. (Johnson) and Andrew Parker; her parents, Edward and Clara (Aldrup) Howerton; her brothers, Harold Howerton; Dale Howerton; Lester Howerton; and her sisters; Irma (Howerton) Bellshaw; Hilda Howerton.
