Marilyn “Jane” Lowe, 91, of Fort Wayne, IN, died on January 23, 2024. Born on August 16, 1932, in Lafayette, IN and raised on her parents’ farm in Otterbein, IN, Jane was valedictorian of her graduating class at Otterbein High School in 1950. She was first chair clarinet in her award winning high school band, and while cheerleading for her high school basketball team she spotted the future love of her life, Jim, playing for a rival school.
Jane attended Indiana University at Bloomington and was a lifelong, devoted Hoosier basketball fan. She was an avid golfer, highlighted by a hole-in-one at Pine Valley Country Club.
Family was Jane’s greatest love. She is survived and profoundly missed by her husband of 72 years, Jim, by her children Dan, Steve, and Linda, and by 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Kay Sackett and her brother John Moore.
Jane was preceded in death by her parents Leslie and Mary Moore, and by her bother Richard “Dick” Moore.
The Funeral service will be 10:30 am Wednesday January 31, 2024, at D.O. McComb and Sons Pine Valley Funeral Home 1320 E. Dupont Rd, Fort Wayne, IN, with visitation one hour prior. Visitation also from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday January 30, 2024, at the funeral home.
