Marilyn Bruick, 93, of Fort Wayne, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, December 10, 2024. Marilyn was born in Fort Wayne, to the late Albert Martin Bruick and Florence Bess (Holsinger) Bruick, the youngest of their three daughters.
Marilyn graduated from North Side High School in 1949 and went on to Ball State Teachers' College, now Ball State University. She joined the Pi Beta Phi sorority and graduated from Ball State in 1953.
A few years later, Marilyn completed her MS at IU and spent most of the following 40 years teaching in the Fort Wayne Community Schools as an elementary school teacher.
Although Marilyn never married, she enjoyed taking tours to places across the United States, often with friends and relatives. She also enjoyed reading and knitting. Her room was often full of present and future knitting projects waiting for her to complete.
For a number of years, Marilyn and her late sister, Joanne took excellent care of their mother who was a semi-invalid. They did this while both working at their respective schools.
Faith was of great importance to Marilyn. A lifelong member of the Lutheran Church, she was known to attend other churches as well. Her faith was always constant and unwavering.
A private burial will be held at Lindenwood Cemetery.
