Margaret “Peg” Sullivan, 96, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away on Monday, September 5, 2022. Born January 1, 1926 in Stamford, Connecticut, she is the daughter of the late Harold and Margaret (Malyn) Krieter.
Peg grew up in Stamford, where she graduated from St. Raphael School of Nursing September 8, 1947. She went on to become a surgical nurse where she met her beloved Bob Sullivan while he was completing his surgical residency. They married September 4, 1948, became parents to five children and settled in Fort Wayne, Indiana. They enjoyed 54 years of marriage before Bob's passing in 2002. Their love of travel took them many places and they never seemed to tire of it.
Peg loved entertaining and had a large circle of friends who enjoyed many Pot Luck dinners and New Year's Eve parties over the years. She grew to love golf, and she and Bob spent countless hours enjoying the game at home and on their many travels.
Peg spent many happy years volunteering for Turnstone in special needs children's classrooms and loved every child there. Her favorite time of year was Christmas when she got to pick out a gift for each individual child based on their specific abilities.
Her true joy, however, was her family of five children, 13 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Peg is survived by her children, Jeremiah Sullivan (Candy Baker), Robert Sullivan, Michael
Sullivan (Nancy), Nancy Flaherty, Kelly Miller (Scott); and her many grandchildren and great
grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Sullivan M.D.; and grandson, Patrick Sullivan.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, September 15, 2022, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 4910 Trier Road, Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. She will be laid to rest at Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests considering a donation to Turnstone Center for Children and Adults with Disabilities. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy for Peg's family may be shared at www.McCombandSons.com.
