Louis E. Wuellner, 82, of Tri-Lakes, died on Saturday, February 5, 2011 at Lutheran Hospital. Born in Indianapolis to Edgar and Gertrude (Lichtsinn) Wuellner, he graduated from Butler University in 1951, and served in U.S. Navy as a Lieutenant JG. He worked at RCA in Pennsauken, NJ and Marion, IN, and retired from ITT in Ft. Wayne after 29 years of service. After retiring in 1991, he moved to Tri-Lakes and enjoyed a long retirement on the lake. Lou's passion were birds and classical music. He was a volunteer radio host for Northern Indiana Public Radio (WBNI) for nearly 30 years. He was a long time member of Trinity English Lutheran Church. He loved spending time with his family, enjoyed the outdoors, and will be remembered for his kind and gentle way, and for his sense of humor.
Lou is survived by his loving companion, Evelyn Platt, daughters, Pamela Wolfe of Ft Wayne, and Rebecca (Kevin) Freimuth of Noblesville; son David (Connie) of Ft Wayne; grandaughters Erin, Ashley, Abby, and Adrienne Wolfe, Madison and Hannah Freimuth, Kiley and Heather Wuellner; grandsons, Christian and Kiel Wuellner; and great-grandchildren Skylar and Addison Wuellner. He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Patricia, and grandaughter Courtney Wuellner.
Service is 11:00am Wednesday at Trinity English Lutheran Church, 405 W. Wayne St. with calling one hour prior. Calling also on Tuesday, from 2-4 and 6-8pm at Klaehn, Fahl and Melton, Winchester Rd.
