Louis loved good/warm food, and mowing his lawn on his riding lawn mower. He was drafted into the Army during WWII, earning a Purple Heart and Bronze Star. Louis was a member of the American Legion, DAV, Military Order of Purple Heart, Scottish Rite, and Mizapah Shrine. He was also employed at the Allen County Health Department, where he retired after 29 years.
Louis is survived by his wife of 63 years, Carol Stephan; son, Neal (Danielle) Stephan; daughters, Tina Stephan, and Lisa (Jeff) Nicely; granddaughters, Sydney Stephan, Mandee Craig, and Ashlee (Gabe) Washington; and two sisters, Helen and Maxine. Louis is preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Charles Stephan.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, March 25, 2022, at D.O. McComb and Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Ave. Fort Wayne, with visitation to begin one hour prior.
