Louis John Miller, 86, of Garrett, passed away on August 22, 2021. Born on November 13, 1934, in Waterloo, he was a son of the late Nicholas L and Julia M (nee Buchs) Miller. He was a member of St Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Fort Wayne. He proudly served his country in the Army, winning medals for sharpshooting during basic training, and has worked at Robert Sheets Plumbing for more than 35 years of service. "How can we describe Louie? As a good and honorable man, his life was well lived by being a devoted and loving husband, and father, a faithful Christian, a planner, a builder, a plumber, a friendly neighbor, a gardener, a clear thinker, a helper when hard things happen, a diligent worker, a proud grandfather, a brother, a friend, and an all-around nice guy. His love for the St Louis Cardinals and for polka, and waltz music, was known by all in the family. Known as ‘Uncle Charlie’ to his nieces and nephews, Louis John Miller will live on in our hearts, Well Done Thou Good and Faithful Servant."
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Dawn (nee Hyndman) Miller; son, Daniel (Inga) Miller, of Plano, Texas; grandson, Lukas Miller; and sister, Joan Myers, of Auburn.
